‘In this extended re-write I take out some old stuff and add some new stuff. This version is not meant to replace the original book, which stands alone, it's more a redux collector's volume. Looking back on the first edition I had 'cleaned up' the photographed images in my idealistic need to impress. Here I revisit the original scans with less tinkering to show the weave and drying oils more evidently, and in the process readjust the images to reproduce more accurately in print. The recent bonus art finds my painting process evolving into a fluid dance between brush and canvas; a gift from years of experimenting, learning, and embracing fearless exploration.

So, why a rewrite, you ask? Well, like any good fantasy tale, our artistic journeys are meant to evolve, and so should the tools in our creative arsenal. This edition is much more than a redux with crisper, bigger pictures and deeper insights, it's a testament to the ever-expanding universe of possibilities within the realm of fantasy art’.
